So I saw this on foodgawker the other day and I made it tonight, with a few changes (had to use what I had on hand). I made a gluten-free crust, and subbed almond meal for the bread crumbs. I used 3 slices of bacon instead of the ham, and eliminated the bottom crust. (I just greased the pan and sprinkled an even layer of almond meal on top, then topped with bacon and followed the rest of the steps.) While I would have liked more bacon, I thought this was a great recipe! So different from the everyday, and yet comforting. Yum.

This is such a unique recipe! I haven't seen many savory potato pies and so I am definitely going to have to try this! I love the combination of apple with cheddar...you can never go wrong there.
