Turkey Legs-try something new for dinner!

This is a great way to enjoy the taste of turkey without cooking the whole bird.  Also, it gives everyone one of the best parts of the turkey-the leg.  Where I shop, they each come in their own package and are very cost effective.  I give everyone one leg and we eat them like cavemen.  My kids LOVE them

Baked Turkey Legs

Ingredients:

  • Turkey legs, as many as you need.  One per each adult and 2 kids can easily share one.
  • Olive oil
  • Seasoning salt or just season with salt and pepper.   Whatever you like best.

Directions:

Pre-heat oven to 350 C.

Coat each turkey leg in olive oil, then season.

Wrap each individual leg with aluminum foil.

Place on a baking sheet lined with foil.

Bake in the oven for 1 hour, after one hour, remove the foil and cook for another 45 min so that the skin gets brown and crispy.

They are ready.  How easy was that?  There are a million variations you can add to this, i.e.: Adding poultry seasoning, adding fresh sage, rosemary or thyme to each turkey leg before wrapping.  Use your imagination and have fun.

You can also make gravy from the juices that run from the turkey.

How about make mashed potatoes and stuffing for a faux Thanksgiving Day treat anytime you want.
