Beaver Tail

I have always laughed at the name of this famous Canadian food.  They are one of my husbands favorite treats but just hearing the word out of context, say at the PNE, “are you going to get a beaver tail?” still makes me laugh.  Actually, any food with the word beaver in it makes me laugh…this is definitely my immaturity, I cannot drive past the vineyard ‘Golden Beaver Wines’ without making some sort of quip and chorkeling to myself.  Boy, have I just digressed.  I had some extra pizza dough left over from yesterday and I had a brilliant idea.  Why not make a morning breakie out of it? If you have been reading my blog you will know I bought a large slab of granite to cook my pizza on, see Pizza Epiphany for more details.  Anyway, I utilized it this morning and made this yummy taste treat.  The recipe is very complicated.  Roll out dough.  Spread butter all over it.  Sprinkle with brown sugar.  Sprinkle with Cinnamon.  Squeeze with lemon (if you like) and then eat.  The other part of this story is that I dropped my perfectionism  for this one and just shot the photos at 7am this morning and in my yellow kitchen light.
