When contemplating what to do for this next Foodbuzz challenge I knew almost immediately that I wanted to do a picnic. I live in Vancouver, B.C., and we are nearing the end of our sunny season. As the end of October approaches, I know that our city is switching gears and getting ready for our colder and rainier weather. What a better way to say goodbye to the last days of fall than with a picnic in the last...

I had an epiphany today. A moment where my personal truth intersected with my desire to be creative. With this pizza recipe remix challenge, I began thinking about all the unique and different ways I could make pizza and even ways I have already tried. I thought of butter chicken pizza, Thanksgiving pizza (turkey, cranberries and stuffing on pizza), tuna and fried egg pizza (a nod to my time in Italy), scallop...

Okay, this is a dish that I have imagined a million times in my mind. I have not taken this recipe from another source other than the idea behind the silk handkerchief pasta from Jamie Oliver. I have imagined going to a restaurant and ordering this amazing dish as an appetizer or as a main first course. Oh, the idea of biting into this…wait…. I did…..there is something to be said about...

While considering what to make for a luxurious feast, many different things came to mind. I thought of all the fine dining restaurants that I have been to, all the sophisticated foods I have eaten, and all the many wonderful dishes that I have not yet attempted to create. French food was the first thing that came to mind because for me, it seems to be the definition of untouchable, unreachable food to prepare. ...

The Loco Moco is classic Hawaiian comfort food. I went to the Big Island with my family 2 years ago. Before I left, I did what I always do before traveling and checked out some of the classic Hawaiian dishes. Of all the amazing food Hawaii has to offer, what caught my eye and my tummy was ‘The Loco Moco’. I did some research and found out that the Loco Moco originated on the Big Island in the...

Hmmm, what defines me as a food blogger? That question can and will be answered by all of us bloggers in a similar way. We love to cook, we love to create, we love to share what we cook and create. For me, this food blog is a risk. It is an adventure into the unknown. The idea that my love and greatest passion is cooking is quite honestly down right scary. Why? Because it doesn’t have a label, it...

Look no further for the best crab cake recipe ever. I can say this without sounding too proud because my friend Cindy introduced me to this recipe. The key to this crab cake is…wait for it….CRAB. A crab cake without fillers is so much more succelent, tasty, delicious than anything you have ever tried. Sure, it costs more BUT you won’t be disappointed and it is still way cheaper than going...

What kid doesn’t like chocolate pudding? It seems though that chocolate pudding is not something we make at home anymore. I wonder if some kids even know it is possible to make it at home. When I was growing up pre-packaged food existed but it did not encompass the massive selection we have today. As a kid, I remember my mom making pudding at home. I remember it because there were always lumps in...

I was thinking about what would be a nice light, refreshing appetizer to bring to a summer BBQ. A month ago, I tried making watermelon salad for the first time. It was such a surprisingly good salad. I twas the combination of sweet and salty with fresh mint that made every bite refreshing. The flavors are so new because we never really pair watermelon, feta cheese and balsamic vinegar. I wanted to see what...
