    59% of Concert Goers Distrust Ticket Vendors

    Summer concert season is upon us and fans are coughing up big bucks to see their favorite star, but how much is too much?

    A new study revealed 62% of Americans believe it’s harder to afford concert tickets this year, and 1 in 2 have struggled to get tickets for their desired show. For many fans, online ticketing vendors are to blame.

    • 1 in 3 are dissatisfied with the concert ticket-buying process
    • 9 in 10 believe concert ticket prices are “overpriced”
    • 59% of Americans don’t trust ticket vendors; of those, 53% are concerned about scalping and half worry about hidden fees
    • 79% believe hidden fees are a “scam”

    The study found Americans are willing to spend $113, on average, for concert tickets but would pay up to $214 for their favorite artist. For the most die-hard fans, 46% say they’d consider picking up a second job to afford hot tickets.
